Wolves captured by camera traps

Monitoring of wolves using camera traps has been taking place in the WoBoFE project for the third year on both the Czech and Bavarian sides. It provides important information about the number of wolves, their movement in the area, but also about the number of youngs born. Sometimes it is possible to photograph wolves that were equipped with a telemetric collar. Here we share with you the most beautiful photos from the 2024/2025 season.

The capture and collaring of wolves is part of the project "Ecological impacts of the return of wolves to the Šumava/Bavarian Forest ecosystem" of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague and the administrations of the Šumava and Bavarian Forest national parks. The project is co-financed by the European Union from the Interreg Bavaria - Czech Republic 2021-2027 program.
