The final seminar for the project titled "Ecological impacts of the return of wolves to the Šumava/Bavarian Forest ecosystem" took place on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the Cultural Center in Volary. Dozens of attendees from both the Czech Republic and Germany were presented with the project's findings. Discussions covered topics such as the abundance and movement patterns of red deer, as well as their impact on the forest, illustrated by a presentation on the monitoring of browsing damage to forest vegetation. The seminar also addressed wolves—covering their diet, territory size, and the number and size of packs within the two national parks, Šumava and the Bavarian Forest. Each topic presented was followed by a discussion, during which project representatives from the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, alongside officials from the national park administrations, answered questions from the audience.
