The Wolf Returns to the National Park!
After a long absence and a resurgence in recent years, several wolf packs now roam the Bohemian-Saxon Switzerland region. As the largest native predator in the area, the wolf influences wildlife populations and thereby shapes the development of the forest and wildlife in the region. Experts from the Senckenberg Natural History Society in Görlitz will explain, right out in the field, the methods used to monitor the secretive lifestyle of this predator. The excursion will also focus on the interactions between wolves and red deer, and subsequently on forest development.
Our experts will report on the results of the REDEMA project to date, present various areas of research directly in the field, and provide an outlook on future wildlife management measures.
