Monitoring of wolf prey in Bohemian forest ecosystem

During January and February 2025, the WoBoFE project monitored the prey caught by wolves that are equipped with telemetric collars in the Bohemian Forest Ecosystem. Monitoring was organized on both the Czech and Bavarian sides, depending on where the wolves were located. Four wolves with telemetric collars were monitored. Two dozen of prey were found.

The prey monitoring was organized by the project "Ecological impacts of wolf return to the Šumava/Bavarian Forest Ecosystem" of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague and the Administrations of the Šumava and Bavarian Forest National Parks. The project is co-financed by the European Union from the Interreg Bavaria-Czech Republic 2021-2027 programme.
